Being a naturalist at heart, I am drawn to the great outdoors for my inspiration. I spend all four seasons exploring and gathering; through the woods, up the mountains, under fallen trees and along the shore. Although primarily a Botanical Artist, I am also drawn to the simple beauty of the more commonly overlooked subjects in nature.
Whether it’s an elegant rose or a simple, worn and discarded feather, I have disciplined myself, with trial and error as my teacher, to use a very detailed and controlled approach to watercolors. I love the technical challenges of a complex composition while revealing the voice of each object’s unique and lively character.
